Write up by IF online magazine.

It's been awfully quiet. Although I've promised to work on my tent cards (guilty guilty, as charged!), I haven't. It's just that I've been occupied with my own work and life so I haven't had the time to focus on other stuff. However, the good news is I've been er... interviewed. No. I won't put it as 'interviewed', it's more like some quick questions and answers by the editor of IF online magazine. You can download the launcher here. The write-up will only come about in October so yea, one more month to go :) I'm excited because it IS extra coverage. I'm also trying to get some contacts to help promote this... maybe an event? I don't know. Nothing is set yet and I'm quite hazy myself. Which I know, I should NOT blog yet less I get your hopes too high :D Hehe, but what to do! Excited ma!

p.s: I've also posted a bulletin in Norah Jones' MySpace, so hopefully we get some hits from there :)

Sunrise & Table Tent

Hey people, first thing... I've changed the featured song to 'Sunrise'. If that song made Linora like Norah Jones... It can probably attract more people who visits this site to like her too!

Next, I've done a table tent or two... I just do not know where to tag it.. Perhaps you guyz can help to ask around (Nick, have you checked with Starbucks?), if they're ok with it then I'll tag there. Sounds good? Let me know asap, yeah? Thanks!

Starbucks

Hey guys, sorry for being MIA for awhile, been rather busy of late. Anyway, the signatures are still slow :( We need to push more!! I got an idea which might work. I know one of the marketing managers of Starbucks Malaysia, and I'm going to ask if they are willing to "collaborate" with us in letting us put up the placards/fliers in their outlets. I think it would be a good place to promote this as I would think 7 out of 10 people who chill out at Starbucks likes Norah Jones! Well, it's a long shot and there won't be promises made, but hey...no harm trying right?

Hello All

Harlooooo

Linora here.. but I will tend to revert to myself as AroniL online =P... don't mind me. A pleasure meeting you all and just a brief intro on meself.

I work right next to Sue, hence I have lost most of my sanity... whatever that is left of it anyway...lol! I am a planner at McCann Erickson and a complete and utter geek. I have found out that I'm rather technosexual.... can't tell if that is a good thing or not...but I take it to be rather interesting. I am big mess in a sense, that I have way too many interests, for my own good. haha.

But yes that is me, and yes i'm a converted Norah Jones fan, since she did her song 'Sunrise'. So power to the ways of blogging and may we eventually get to bring her down.

Brilliant start up to the whole thing...and especially you Sue...hehe ^_^ Lets see how far we can take it.

Tag the stores.

I realised that it's not gonna work if we just sit around and wait for some printer to drop from the sky :) Well, I mean WHILE waiting, we could work on something else.

I got an idea over the weekend. I think I know how each of us who sworn to be Norah's fan can really help this site. Ha ha ha. Faith testing time peoplez, so... we now see who will eat their words and who won't :)

It's simple. The idea is YOU, yes you, create maybe one or two or three (or more!) table tents yourself. Break free from whatever pre-conceived rules of how table tents should look like. For those who are not from advertising, table tents are basically a 'tent' looking card usually found on the cashier's desk or even at restaurants' tables to promote stuff. So, you can do it really cool looking. Or you can make it look really rustic. You can even go crazy with it. It's up to you. Now what happens once you've made one? Remember, you don't have to print. You can draw, doodle, spray-paint, whatever. It can be 1m size (!), 10cm, 1cm, also, whatever. You decide. So once you've got them ready. All you have to do is take it to your favourite store - record store, bookshop, cafe, boutique, whatever (<-- most used word of the day) and ask if you can leave it at the cashier. Once it's done. I urge you to take a picture of it and either post it here (if you're a blogger) or mail it to us (if you're not) and we'll post it up :) So we know which places are 'tagged'. I think that's kinda fun. It's got an element of surprise. Who knows we may be visiting the same stores and be nicely surprised!

So yea. Let me know what you think. No. I don't wanna know what you think. I wanna know if you'd do it.

Peace!

Placards/Table Tents.

Hey, am just wondering if anyone is printing it? I can't get hold of the people whom I armtwisted :P SEE. That shows one thing. Armtwisting doesn't work. All hail democracy and crowd wisdom.

More Links!

Hey all,

A quick check on the counter statistics showed that we have 2 more sites linking to us - JunkOnline and Jayelle. Many thanks to everyone for the support!! Keep it up!!

P.I.M.P

hey guys we are yet again being 'pimped' on another blog... :)

http://ellone.com/?p=201

Stellar status.

Our blog is slowing down. But that's okay, if it can sustain after the initial hype means there's really something here. If it can't. Then I guess it's not meant to be :) Or simply means we need a longer brewing time. Anyway. I called Rahul from Stellar and spoke to him. Although they've contacted NJ's management and have been given a figure, it's not confirmed. It's a ballpark figure which means if there are a couple of 'sponsors' bidding for her performance, the highest one gets it. Now. Looks like we've came to our first crossroad. In order to proceed, there are two choices:

1) We, ourselves, look for possible sponsors. Then approach Stellar. It should be a sum that's enough to cover for the whole event inclusive Stellar's fee. Er. Basically what this means is, we're becoming an event's company. Ha ha. How we're evolving!

2) We do not actively seek for sponsors. Instead we just concentrate on creating hype about this blog. And trying guerrilla means to promote this website in hope for more signatures, votes and visitors. So that we're very indirectly attracting sponsors.

If you ask me to decide. I will choose number 2. If we take the first route, I think we're probably moving into unchartered waters. Although some of us may have strong credentials in events management (and I don't have a single doubt on that!), we may be biting more than we can chew. Especially if this is a non-profit project, dealing with finance is highly delicate. Stellar could use US as a proof if they want to approach any sponsors but at this point, I think they prefer a more passive stance. Looking for sponsors for this event, I must warn everyone, is not simply drafting a letter and sending it to companies. The projection, proposal, cost breakdown, everything takes a lot of time. With all of us having our own jobs to give enough headaches, I think we need to consider the effort versus the result. Besides, even if we manage to get a sponsor, NJ may choose to go to another with a higher bid. Which means, good for us, she IS coming. But it also means that our effort was unnecessary.

Number 2 route allows us to remain true to our mission which is to get enough publicity and attention, that hopefully SOMEONE will notice us. If you ask me, of course the other way has more chances of seeing this happen because if there are no bidders, it means WE will be the ones bringing her over. A pro-active stance always have a higher chance :) BUT. Being also aware of our limitations, I think just publicizing this blog and getting enough public attention on it will equally do the job. We've got till 31st December :)

Anyway. Just my two cents worth. If you guys have any other thoughts, please share. If majority feels that we ought to be more pro-active, then we will be more pro-active. First step is to appointing people to delegate responsibilities and setting deadlines.

Let me know what's on the people's mind y'all :)
